In my book, the NYC-based shoe label Sigerson Morrison can do no wrong—and their sister line is just as spot-on downtown cool. These T-strap neon-bright Randy sandals are a quintessential warm-weather staple and look adorable with jeans or dresses. Check out all of the available colors at Zappos.com.
Laughter is good for the soul. I was reminded of this fact last weekend while out celebrating yet another 39th birthday with some girlfriends. A few of the ladies had funny iPhone cases from Bluntcard. The cases gave us one more thing to giggle about, and we all agreed that the birthday girl is ‘ too pretty to work‘.
Another favorite case was ‘I have a busy day of not getting anything done‘. These ladies know themselves well and aren’t afraid to tell the world how they see things! I love it.
As I’ve been needing a new case for my phone (what happened to quality, InCase??), I paid a visit to the Bluntcard website and found a case I had to have: ‘I’m trapped in this horrible little town‘. I. Love. It. No offense, but if a town isn’t near the beach, it’s a horrible place to live. And Texas beaches don’t count.
Need a little laughter to get through the rest of your day? Check out the entire collection of iPhone and other device cases at Bluntcard.com.
The Longchamp Le Pliage tote bag is my current favorite. I think the simple design of this bag is genius. Simple, with tons of room, and completely waterproof. The color selection is awesome! No way to pick just one. Then I came across the ‘Paradise’ large tote. I knew. I had. To have. It. The vintage postcard design makes this the perfect bag for spring and summer travel.
A little histoire: The Le Pliage bag was first sold in the U.S. in 1994 but really took off around 1999, when Longchamp opened its first U.S. retail location on Madison Avenue. The Le Pliage is the runaway best seller here in the U.S. Mugger-wary New Yorkers are obsessed with straps, versus the Parisians, who prefer their Le Pliages backpack-style.
Longchamp has only ever advertised the bag in trade magazines, but in early 2000, a prominent editorial feature in InStyle nearly doubled sales of Le Pliage in the Madison Avenue boutique the month after it ran. Katie Couric was subsequently photographed with one of the bags in 2001, and the rest, as they say, is history.

My dream is to eventually own a beach cottage. Hopefully one that looks like this:
Where the kitchen will most likely look like this:
You see, I love Fiesta dishes. After decades of living with plain white dishes, I’m now all about the mixy-matchyness of these great colors. Something about them bring sunshine and happiness to mind. And the whole beauty of Fiestaware is the the celebration of colors . My husband knows that a good way to drive me crazy Is to sort the dishes by color as he unloads the dishwasher.
But I have this minor issue: I like to browse online, and if I find any great deals on Fiestaware I just. Cannot. Resist. I consider it my duty to give it a loving home. At the beach.
The urge to buy happened again a this morning. I’ve been stalking Lemongrass – my current favorite color – online, and came across a pedestal serving bowl I just had to have. It was bargain priced. Free shipping. Discover card points. 1-Click-Shopping. Done. My new lovely will be here on Saturday (don’t you just love Amazon Prime?)
Maybe I’ll invite my husband to live in my beach cottage with me. But only if he stops sorting the Fiestaware by color.

If you’re going to be on either end of a kiss this Valentine’s Day, you might want to consider smooching bare-lipped. Most lipstick contains lead.
Lead has been banned in paint since 1978 because of its toxicity at low levels, but it still shows up in small amounts in some of the best-selling lipstick brands.
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, which did an analysis of a study of lead in lipstick conducted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, wants consumers to know that most of the 400 different lipsticks tested were positive for the substance.
“Recognizing that there is no safe level of lead exposure, we need to be protecting women and children from all levels of exposure,” said Stacy Malkan, co-founder of the campaign—a non-profit coalition of environmental- and cancer-prevention groups.
Malkan’s group wants the FDA to set a limit for how much lead lipstick can contain and to study whether there are any dangers to having the substance applied to human lips, particularly the lips of children and pregnant women. “We know that ingestion of lipstick happens. It gets into our bodies,” she said, noting that lead accumulates in people.
The group said that five of the nine lipstick brands with the most lead are sold by L’Oreal, the world’s largest cosmetics maker. Continue reading
Laying in your bed gossiping on the phone with your girlfriends just isn’t the same without a handset. This retro phone handset by Native Union will make you feel like you’re still using a landline without having to worry about your mom listening in from another room.
The handset, inspired by the iconic 1950s Bakelite-style telephone, plugs directly into most phones and computers to facilitate chatting via Skype, Facetime, Google Talk and other high tech forms of communication.
Lenny Kravitz rocks it in black, but I’m thinking I want a pink one.
I love Hunter boots! I received the green color as a gift, and they make me look forward to rainy days. They look cute with skinny jeans and skirts, and I have no problem with the fit. I was afraid they wouldn’t be as stylish as my leather boots, but they totally are, and I’ve gotten tons of compliments. Click here to see the entire collection at Zappos, my favorite online store.
